  1. im literally losing my mind here i pay for gigabit fiber and my mini PC is wired, but speed tests top out at roughly 95 Mbps 🀦 windows says teh link speed is 100/100 Mbps. thats suspicious, because before the Realtek RTL8019(AS) (Windows 2000/XP) update it showed 1000 and I was getting full speed 😭 heres what teh adapter sattus looks like:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    i haven't touched the cable or the router. can a driver update realy change teh negotiated speed, or is it a coincidence and something physical is going on? im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  2. wait does a different cable on the same port give gigabit??

    day one patch is bigger than the actual game, classic

  3. ok so check teh status in a temrinal: Get-NetAdapter | Select Name, LinkSpeed in PowerShell shows the negotiated speed quickly as you test different cables and ports. good luck man!

  4. ok so a ~95 Mbps cap almost always means the link negotiated 100 Mbps. gigabit needs all four wire pairs, 100 Mbps only uses two. A damaged cable, a bent pin or a cheap coupler can drop it to 100. swap the cable first since it's the cheapest test. fingers crossed 🀞

  5. ahh classic check for a hidedn power issue: under Power Management tab, untick Allow the computer to turn off this device and see if negotiation behaves after reboot. lmk how it goes

  6. @jonas_stack wowww ok speed & Duplex was stuck at 100 Mbps after the update. Set it back to Auto, now it negotiates 1 Gbps and speed tests match gigabit fiber.
