  1. ok weird one okay, this ones weird. USB DAC plugged into a front USB port, and Device Manager shows smth like an unknown USB device.

    USB Audio Device Properties

    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}

    the Gigabyte update was installed yesterday... i'd love to understand how USB audio actually gets its driver, because right now i'm just plugging and unplugging hoping for magic.. 😅 it worked for months without any trouble, so something definately changed, i'm happy to dig into Device Manager or logs if someone explains what i'm looking for. pls help 🙏

  5. Most USB headsets use the built-in Windows USB Audio Class driver, not a vendor one. Check Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers and Sound, video and game controllers. An Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) means it failed before any audio driver loaded: try a rear port directly on the motherboard first.

    at this point my GPU cost more than my car lol

  9. been there man if the headset uses a companion app with its own driver, reinstall that apps latest version from the makers support page 😂 A mismatch between the apps driver and a newer Windows audio stack can block detection.
