  1. Okay, this ones weird. wireless gaming headset plugged into a rear USB port, and Device Manager shows something like an unknown USB device.

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    the VIA update was installed yesterday. I'd love to understand how USB audio actually gets its driver, because right now I'm just plugging and unplugging hoping for magic 👍 it worked for months without any trouble, so smth definately changed. I'm happy to dig into Device Manager or logs if someone explains what I'm looking for. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  3. if the headset uses a companion app with its own driver, reinstall that app's latest version from teh maker's support page. A mismatch between teh app's driver and a newer Windows audio stack can block detection. hope that helps :)

  4. oof most USB headsets use teh built-in Windows USB Audio Class driver, not a vendor one. Check Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers and Sound, video and game controllers. An Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) means it failed before any audio driver loaded: try a rear port directly on the motherboard first.

    been there man uninstall teh ghost entries: Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices, then remove greyed-out entries for teh headset under Sound, Audio inputs and outputs and Human Interface Devices. replug and let Windows enumerate it fresh. lmk how it goes

  6. ehh removing hidden devices is fine, but dont go mass-deleting everything under USB. Target the ones that match teh Bluetooth headphones.
