  1. ok so front audio on my mid-tower case died after a driver update. rear audio is totally fine.

    USB Audio Device Properties

I tried two different headphones, both work in the rear port and on my phone... the vendor audio app used to show a little popup when I plugged into the front, and that popup never appears now... is there a setting teh update could have changed, or do I need to open teh case? thx in advance!!

  3. oh ive been there lol roll back the audio driver in Device Manager > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver as a quick test. if the front jack works again, its the driver. worked for me anyway 馃し

  4. if none of that helps, open the case and check that the HD_AUDIO front panel connector is fully seated on teh motherboard header. Coincidences happen, and a half-loose connector can fail jack detection.

  5. check the BIOS: some boards have a front panel type setting (HD Audio vs AC97)... if it got reset after a BIOS update or CMOS clear, set it back to HD Audio. lmk how it goes

  6. lol same thing happened to me if teh conosle app went missing with the update, the jack logic may be partially gone too... install teh full audio package from the motherboard or PC makers support page, which usually includes teh console app through teh Microsoft Store link. good luck man!
