ahh classic check that teh drive has free space (at least 10 to 15%) and that TRIM is enabled: fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify should return 0. lmk how it goes

  1. ok weird one after the Samsung SH-W162C Firmware TI00 update, my home-built PC became painfully slow. Opening the Start menu takes ages, and apps freeze for seconds at a time. Task Manager shows this:

    Disk 0 (C:) Active time 100%

    Disk 0 (C:) Active time 100%
    Not responding

the NVMe SSD sits at 100% active time, with barely any read or write speed :/ response times are huge. before teh update everything was snappy :) im wondering whether teh storage driver is the issue or whether my drive is dying at the worst possible time.

  2. been there man look in Event Viewer > System for disk, stornvme, storahci or iaStorAC warnings like reset to devcie or I/O retried. Those point at driver or hardware timeouts.

RAM prices doing their own thing again smh

  6. nah tbh 100% active time with nothing happening can also be a failing drive even if SMART looks fine at first. keep the backup current. just my 2 cents

    DNS. its always DNS
