  1. I just finished after a BIOS update on my gaming rig. Windows Update grabbed a bunch of drievrs, and everything seems to work. Now I'm wondering whether I still need to install ASRock H55M Bios. Some people say it's essential for power management and performance, others say Windows handles it. What's teh honest answer? I'd like to understand what a chipset driver actually changes nowadays. seriously need help here 馃槶

  5. on many platforms, the chipset package is mostly INF files that give devices proper names and correct power settings. windows often provides equivalent inbox drivers. but some platforms include real drivers (power management, PCIe, I/O) that do matter. fingers crossed 馃

  6. ok so install order for a fresh setup: chipset first, then storage, then network, then GPU and audio. That avoids dependencies installing in the wrong order. worked for me anyway 馃し

  7. been there man check Device Manager with View > Show hidden devcies. if there are unknown devices like SM Bus Controller or PCI Device, teh chipset package or related drivers fill those in.

  8. hmmmm not sure about that for newer platforms, skipping the chipset package can mean missing performance or power fixes. Id always install it. just my 2 cents
