Monday 8am and staging has a state lock from Friday night

yeahhh after unlocking, run terraform plan first. If an interrupted apply had partly completed, teh plan will show resources that exist in teh cloud but not in state (or vice versa). Fix that with terraform import or by re-running the apply. worked for me anyway 🤷

pro tip: write down what u change... i didnt and had to redo dynamodb from scratch, told my boss it would take 10 minutes, its been all weekend lmk how it goes

oh ive been there lol never Ctrl+C an apply twice... the first interrupt lets Terraform finish in-flight operations and release the lock; the second one kills it immediately and that's what leaves stale locks and half-written resources. worked for me anyway 🤷

ok weird one spent two days on dynamodb and im still not done. exact same thing happened to my work pc last month

lol same thing happened to me following, having the same problem. try turning off teh power plan first, fixed it for me

reading this at 2am instead of sleeping, no regrets im about to throw this thing out the window lol
