Thats what happens if i just flip the switch 👍 i dont wanna reinstall Windows if i can avoid it. Whats teh correct, safe procedure to switch, and do i need to uninstall the RAID driver first? i have a backup of my documents, but Id really prefer to keep my installed programs and settings intact if possible.

  2. Windows only loads the storage driver needed for the current mode at boot. Switch modes and it can't find its boot disk. The common safe procedure: in an admin terminal run bcdedit /set safeboot minimal, reboot into BIOS, switch to AHCI, boot (Safe Mode loads teh AHCI driver), then run bcdedit /deletevalue safeboot and reboot normally.

  8. for a single SSD, AHCI vs RAID mode makes little practical speed difference, switch only if you have a reason (like Linux compatibility).
