Quick question: my PCIe Wi-Fi card is from an old build and Id like to use it in my current PC 馃敟 ECS offers Nvidia MCP61 Driver. Does anyone have experience with this kinda thing? :D i dont mind some tinkering, but i dont want a security risk or random blue screens. If anyone has been through this with a similar old adapter, Id love to hear how it went and whether ud do it again or just buy a new one. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

Jump to the replysorry forgot to say the hardware ID is listed in the INF of Nvidia MCP61 Driver, so it should be supoprted. hope thats enough info 馃槄
at this point my GPU cost more than my car lol
get the adapters hardware ID from Device Manager > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids (something like
USB\VID_xxxx&PID_xxxx). Then check the driver package's INF file: if your VID/PID appears in it, the driver supports your adapter.oh ive been there lol search teh Microsoft Update Catalog for teh hardware ID. older adapters often have drivers there, even if teh vendor site no longer lists them.
oh ive been there lol drivers for older Windows vresions sometimes work on newer ones, but they may fail driver signature requirements or core isolation (Memory integrity).. 馃う if Windows blocks it, dont disable security features just for an old adapter. worked for me anyway 馃し
@jarslan WOWWW decided to retire the PCIe Wi-Fi card. the new one works without any driver install at all.
