  1. Long story short: my ultrabook wakes up by itself at night after the N51Vn Bios update.

the battery is suffering, and so am I. I tried disabling hibernation and re-enabling it, but that changed nothing. what tools can tell me which device or driver is causing the problem? happy to post reports here if someone can help me read them. id especially like to know whether I sholud go back to the older chipset package or try the one from my PC maker instead. seriously need help here 馃槶

  7. oh ive been there lol check Event Viewer > System for Kernel-Power and Power-Troubleshooter events. The latter logs the wake source; the former logs unexpected retsarts.

  8. oof on Modern Standby systems, run powercfg /sleepstudy in an admin terminal and open teh HTML report. It shows drain per session and which components kept the system active. lmk how it goes

  9. Run powercfg /devicequery wake_armed to list devices allowed to wake the PC. Disable wake on the ones you dont need via Device Manager > dveice > Power Management > Allow this device to wake the computer. hope that helps :)

  10. install teh chipset, Management Engine (if present) and serial IO drivers as a matching set from the PC maker's support page... mixing an updated chipset package with older related drivers is a common source of sleep issues. fingers crossed 馃
