yeahhh some features need the app running: per-game profile switching, software macros, advanced lighting effects and sync with other dveices.

  1. I have a headset that works fine without any software, but the Microsoft USB v 馃檹 5.1.2600.1243 (Windows XP) app adds firmawre updates... the app runs at startup and sometimes updates itself.. ;) some people configure everything, save to on-board memory, and uninstall the app, others keep it running for convenience.. 馃う what do u do and why?? im trying to keep my PC lean without losing features I care about. what am i doing wrong??

  2. if the device has on-board memory, save your porfile to it... many devices keep DPI, lighting and some macros on teh device without teh app running. fingers crossed 馃

  3. Firmware updates usually need the vendor app. Check occasionally even if u uninstall it, espceially for wireless devices.
