guys pls help quick questoin: my USB Wi-Fi dongle is older than my current PC and Id like to use it in my current PC. Broadcom offers NetXtreme Ethernet Controller Driver 15.0.0.21 for Server 2008 32-bit. Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing? i dont mind some tinkering, but i dont want a security risk or random blue screens 😂 If anyone has been through this with a siimlar old adapter, Id love to hear how it went and whether youd do it again or just buy a new one.
does broadcom netxtreme ethernet controller driver 15.0.0.21 for server 2008 32-bit support my usb wi-fi dongle on newer windows??
oof same issue here on my office machine... driving me crazy
ahh classic make a backup before u touch the update, learned that teh hard way. following, having the same problem
ahh classic search the Microsoft Update Catalog for the hardware ID. Older adapters often have drivers there, even if the vendor site no longer lists them. lmk how it goes
oh ive been there lol drivers for older Windows versions sometimes work on newer ones, but they may fail driver signature requirements or core isolation (Memory integrity)... if Windows blocks it, dont disable security features just for an old adapter.
