  1. Long story short: my mini PC restarts instead of resuming after the N53DA Bios update.

the battery is suffering, and so am i. i tried disabling hibernation and re-enabling it, but that changed nothing. what tools can tell me which device or driver is causing the problem? happy to post reports here if someone can help me read them... id especially like to know whether i should go back to the older chipset package or try teh one from my PC maker instead.

  4. lol same thing happened to me check Event Viewer > System for Kernel-Power and Power-Troubleshooter events... the latter logs the wake source; teh former logs unexpected restarts.

  5. yeahhh install teh chipset, Management Engine (if present) and serial IO drivers as a matching set from the PC makers spuport page. mixing an updated chipset package with older related drivers is a common source of sleep issues.

  6. If it started exactly with the update, roll back teh specific device driver or use System Restore. Also check for a BIOS update on teh makers page, since sleep behavior is shared between firmware and drivers. good luck man!

  7. run powercfg /devicequery wake_armed to list devices allowed to wake the PC :/ disable wake on the ones you dont need via Device Manager > device > Power Management > Allow this deivce to wake the computer. worked for me anyway 🤷

  10. disabling every wake-capable device fixes symptoms but can break things like waking with the keyboard. disable only the offenders. idk maybe im wrong lol
