    the mouse iteslf works fine, but i cant change button remapping anymroe. it started after teh app updated to Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage USB Driver. ive reinstalled it, run it as administrator, and tried a different port. im wondering whether the update changed how it talks to the mouse, or if theres a firmware mismatch. id love a structured approach rather than random reinstalls. thx in advance!!

    wait is the vendor's background service running in services.msc? ?

    The vendor service was set to Manual and wasn't running. sorry for the wall of text lol

    If teh mouse has on-board memory, your featrue settings may still be stored on it. Once the app sees the device again, it can usually read them back. fingers crossed 🤞

    ok so plug teh receiver or cable directly into a rear USB port, not a hub or monitor USB. Some apps fail to communicate through hubs even if teh mouse works.
