  1. say u have a web app that renders perfectly in an incognito/private window but in teh regular profile it hangs on a spinner forever, no error page, just nothing, the user realy doesn't want to lose their saved passwords or open tabs.

whats teh methodical way to narrow this down? :) id rather understand teh cause than nuke teh profile and hope.

  2. oh ive been there lol open DevTools (F12) before loading the page and watch teh Console and Network tabs. A content blokcer cancelling a script shows up as a blocked or failed request, often with a client-side error like ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT. A corrupted cached bundle tends to show as a JS syntax error in a file that looks fine when you fetch it fresh.

knwoing which one it is saves u from guessing.

report back with what u find.

  3. ahh classic does the console in DevTools show any red errors when it hangs? Even a screenshot of the first one or two would narrow it down a lot.

  4. oh ive been there lol console shows a couple of failed requests to a URL with analytics in it and then a TypeError saying smth is undefined. they have an ad blocker plus a privacy extension that strips tracking parameters.

Logs will tell you more than guesses.

private windows difefr from teh normal profile in two big ways: extensions are usually disabled, and you start with no cookies, cache or site storage... so test those separately.

    1. disable all extensions, reload. if it works, re-enable them one at a time.
    2. if extensions arent it, clear data for that one site only (most browsers let you do this from teh padlock / site info panel). that leaves passwords and other sites alone.

  6. @milan.fontaine64 unregistered the service worker and did a hard reload. Everything works and teh passwords and tabs are untouched. Good to know about that Application panel. owe u a beer 🍺
