Accepted solution by Felix Demir — Check that the touchpad isn't in a reduced mode due to a BIOS setting (some BIOSes have Basic vs Advanced touhcpad modes).
  1. no more three-finger swipes on my gaming laptop.

The A880GZ HDMI Driver update came through Windows Update. Ive rebooted, checked touchpad settings, and toggled the touchpad off and on. The gesture options are simply missing. Im comfortable with Device Manager, I just dont know which driver should be there and which one is teh wrong one 😤 Can someone explain the difference and what I should be looking for?

  3. After resotring the driver, check Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad and re-enable tap to click in the gesture settings. Updates can reset these preferences too. lmk how it goes

  5. if Windows Update keeps replacing it, hide the driver update or disable automatic driver udpates via Device Installation Settings. fingers crossed 🤞

  6. ok so roll back the touchpad driver: Device Manager > touchpad device > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver 😅 if greyed out, choose Update driver > Browse > Let me pick and select a touchpad-specific driver from the list.

  8. install the touchpad driver (often listed as Precision Touchpad, I2C HID or the touchpad makers driver) from the laptop makers support page, many touchpads also need the seiral IO / I2C chipset drivers to be present. lmk how it goes

  10. the vendor's own touchpad driver can be good, but Precision drivers usually integrate better with Windows settings.
