DOES REALTEK HD ALC 880 AUDIO CODECS SURROUND PROCESSING ACTUALLY HELP ON STUDIO HEADPHONES?

  1. Maybe a hot take, but i disabled every enhancement in Sound settings and the Realtek app, and late-night TV sounds cleaner on studio headphones. Am i missing out on something by not using spatial audio, or is plain stereo just fine for most people? i'm genuinely open to being convinced either way. If you have a setup you're happy with, i'd love to hear it, including which settings you turned off and why. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  3. oof virtual surround is a matter of taste and of how well the processing matches your ears. Try it for a week in competitive games, then disable it for a week. Your preference after that is more reliable than a quick A/B. hope that helps :)

  4. for games that have their own good 3D audio engine, adding another surround layer on top can make positioning worse. in that case, use stereo output and let the game handle it.
