Every time Im in a racing sim, somewhere around loading into a match, the game freezes and closes with this:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

the error text mentions DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED... the graphics card is obviously still in teh PC. this only started after i installed AMD Catalyst Display Driver 8.12 HOTFIX ... ive verified game files, lowered settings and closed every overlay i could find... still crashes lmao is the driver the culprit, or did the update just expose a problem that was already there? what am i doing wrong??

do a clean install of teh driver version u trust: download it from the AMD supoprt page, disconnect the network, boot to Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, install. then test a kart racer for a few sessions before changing anything else.

to stop Windows Update replacing ur chosen driver: run gpedit.msc (Pro) and enable Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows Updates. on Home, use System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No.

    DNS. its always DNS

    lol
