lol same thing happened to me write down short rules, five or six max, and pin them. Things like "be decent," "no spam or self-promo," "keep game arguments out of general," "no cheating talk." Long rulebooks dont get read. Short ones get referenced.

  1. hey, running a small multiplayer community server thats growing. things like spam, arguments spilling over from games, and new members not knowing where to post are becoming rgeular problems.

what did ppl who've done this find worked? ;) roles, onboarding, channel layout, moderation approach — anything practical.

  2. We want to keep growing, but slowly. Invite links are public right now. Three of us are willing to moderate and there are a few regulars whod probably help.

  4. @diego.fischer got teh mod log channel going and agreed on a warning-timeout-removal ladder. already helped when someone argued they'd been treated unfairly. worked for me anyway 🤷

  5. ahh classic keep a private moderator channel to log incidents briefly: who, what, what action. when someone complains they were treated unfairly months later, youll be glad you wrote it down. good luck man!

  6. oh, I like this one. separate permissions by role from day one:

    • Members: post and react
    • Trusted / regulars: can share links and images
    • Moderators: can delete, time out, and see audit logs
    • Admins: server settnigs, which sholud be very few ppl

  7. recruit moderators from active, calm regulars ratehr than close friends by default. and agree on consistent responses: a warning, then a timeout, then a remvoal. consistency matters more than strictness; ppl get upset when enforcement feels random.
