Genuine question: after a new motherboard, do u install the chipset driver package first? My work PC runs fine with Windows defaults. The ECS support page has G41T-M5(V1.0) Bios 09/12/23 . If I install it, what changes? 馃敟 If I don't, what am I missing? I'd love to hear opinions from people who've tried both. I'm not chasing benchmark records, I just want a properly set up system that won't surprise me later.
DO I ACTUALLY NEED ECS G41T-M5(V1.0) BIOS 09/12/23 AFTER A NEW MOTHERBOARD??

Jump to the replyok so check Device Manager with View > Show hidden devices 馃槶 if there are uknnown devices like SM Bus Controller or PCI Device, teh chipset package or related drivers fill those in.
which platform is your laptop on? ??
i dont use any special power plans, just Balanced. sorry for the wall of text lol
have u checked your vista, settings? mine were reset after an update... lol this thread is gold
reading release notes like its a horror novel
@regexrider thank u this worked!!
yeahhh on many platforms, the chipset package is mostly INF files that give devices proper names and correct power settings. Windows often provides equivalent inbox drivers. But some platforms include real drivers (power management, PCIe, i/O) that do matter.
ahh classic following, having the same problem good luck man!
any update on this?
@regexrider did u ever fix it? ?
