ok so i just finished a new motherboard on my home-built PC. Windows Update grabbed a bunch of drivers, and everything seems to work. Now Im wondering whether i still need to intsall ASRock X79 Extreme9 Bios. Some people say its essential for power management and performance, others say Windows handles it. Whats the honest answer? Id like to understand what a chipset driver actually changes nowadays.
Windows Update Installed Everything. Should I Still Install X79 Extreme9 Bios?
check Device Manager with View > Show hidden devices 馃槶 if there are unknown devices like SM Bus Controller or PCI Device, the chipset package or related drivers fill those in. worked for me anyway 馃し
install order for a fresh setup: chipset first, then storage, then network, then GPU and audio, that avoids dependencies installing in the wrong order. worked for me anyway 馃し
reading this at 2am instead of sleeping, no regrets... try turning off the BIOS first, fixed it for me im about to throw this thing out the window lol
reading release notes like its a horror novel
@vik_patch-3pi decided to install the board makers chipset package.. 馃し its now part of my checklist after a new mothebroard. seriously made my day 馃槶馃檹
