IS THERE ANY REASON TO UPDATE CATALYST DISPLAY DRIVER WHEN THE DRIVER MY PC CAME WITH WORKS FINE??

    ugh. im on the driver my PC came with and everything works for everyday work. now AMD has Catalyst Display Driver out and teh app keeps nagging me... part of me wants the fixes, part of me remembers the last time an update gave me black screens for a week... has anyone been running it for a while? ;) any issues worth knowing bfeore i click install? i would love a short, honest answer from people who have actually used it for a few weeks.

    read teh rleease notes on the AMD support page before anything else... they list fixed issues and known issues 🙏 if a known issue matches ur setup, wait; if the fixes dont touch u, theers no rush.

    oh ive been there lol my approach: make a restore point, downolad teh preivous driver package sooo its ready, then try the new one. If anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall teh old one. That makes updating a low-risk experiment. worked for me anyway 🤷

    nah tbh "If it works, dont touch it" is fine for a while, but eventually a game or app will require a newer driver and ull be jumping several versions at once, which is riskier. but hey ymmv

    @cyrusn502 dude decided to wait two weeks, then updated with the previous package ready just in case. Catalyst Display Driver has been fine so far.
