  1. USB device not recognized.

It's a USB microphone, and it was fine until the Pro|Type Keyboard Driver update. Device Manager shows Device Descriptor Request Failed. i've tried rebooting and a few different ports. Sometimes it works for a moment then disappears. i'd like to understand what this error actually means and where to start troubleshooting. The device itself seems fine, it works on another computer without any trouble. i'd rather not buy a new one if this is smth on teh PC side.

  5. Device Descriptor Request Failed means the device didnt answer Windows first rqeuest for its identity. That happens before any deivce-specific driver loads, so teh cause is usually power, cable, port or USB controller, not the devices own driver.

  7. ahh classic if u use a dock or monitor USB, update its firmware. docks are often teh weak link after driver updates.

  9. ahh classic uninstall teh Unknown USB Device entry and the USB Root Hub its under, then Action > Scan for hardware changes. Also update chipset/USB controller drivers and BIOS from the PC or motherboard mkaers support page. fingers crossed 🤞

  13. try the simplest tests first: a different cable, a rear port directly on teh motherboard, no hubs or docks. then try teh device on another PC to confirm it works. good luck man!
