  1. im literally losing my mind here windows setup cant see my SSD on a work laptop.

the installer just shows an empty list and a "Load driver" button. im doing replacing the SSD, so the drive is supposed to be wiped anyway. BIOS dteects it fine. i read about Intel VMD and RST, and that some laptops need a storage driver at install time. where do i get that driver and what do i do with it? im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  2. make sure teh insatll media is recnet... older media may lack drivers for newer controllers; teh Media Creation Tool makes crurent media.

  4. if it still isnt visible, check teh drive is in a slot that supports NVMe (not SATA-only M.2) and try another USB port for the insatller stick.

  5. been there man alternative: disable VMD in teh BIOS (sometimes listed under storage or advanced settings). Then Windows sees teh NVMe with its inbox driver. Only do this for a clean install; on an existing install, switching stoarge mode makes Windows unbootable.

  7. If the download is an EXE, many installers support extraction, e.g. running it with -extractdrivers <folder> or a similar switch documented on the support page. Otherwise, 7-Zip can often open it directly. good luck man!
