    im literally losing my mind here since updating the graphics driver my monitor with speakers gets no audio over HDMI at all.

    i tried another HDMI cable, another port, and restarting the monitor with speakers. In Sound settings the HDMI device doesn't even appear, and in Device Manager i don't see a high definition audio device for teh GPU anymore. It worked yesterday on the old GeForce Quadro Notebook Graphics Driver ;) Help? i am starting to suspect the installer did something odd, cuz nothing else changed. The monitor with speakers itself works fine with a game console on the next input.

    If the HD audio device shows a yellow mark, uninstall it in Device Manager (tick delete teh driver software if offered), then reinstall teh GPU package with teh audio component selected. lmk how it goes

    check teh 1080p TV from a few years agos input settings. some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a driver change... power-cycling the 1080p TV from a few years ago with teh PC on, or changing teh TVs HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring the endpoint back. fingers crossed 🤞

    oh ive been there lol have u checked your gpu settings? mine were reset after an update lmk how it goes

    wait what sometimes its purely teh 1080p TV from a few years ago. A firmware update on teh TV or receiver side can drop audio until teh EDID is renegotiated. but hey ymmv

    @arjun_heap Enabling it in mmsys.cpl plus power-cycling teh monitor with speakers did it. HDMI audio is back with GeForce Quadro Notebook Graphics Driver 327.23.
