Accepted solution by Tariq Pereira — lol same thing happened to me remove any GPU overclock and memory overclock. Device removed errors are very sensitive to VRAM instability.…
  1. I lost a ranked match to this today, so forgive the tone. an open-world RPG hard-freezes during loading into a match and then I get this:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

It says the device was removed. Removed! Two weeks ago I had zero crashes. In bteween, the only change was the ION 330HT Nvidia All-in-1 Driver update. My friends on the same game with different cards are fine. What does this error actually mean and how do I prove whether its the driver or my card?

  3. ok so look at teh game's own crash logs too. Many engines write a log with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG vs DEVICE_REMOVED vs DEVICE_RESET. Hung usually means a timeout; removed can also mean the card actually dropped off teh bus, which points at power or the slot. fingers crossed 🤞

lol same thing happened to me remove any GPU overclock and memory overclock. Device removed errors are very sensitive to VRAM instability. If you used a tuning tool, reset it to deafults and also check that no profile reapplies at startup. lmk how it goes

  5. @tariq.pereira Blocked driver updates in Windows Update, DDUd, installed the previous ASRock driver. an open-world RPG has been stable for a full weekend. Thank you all!
