Test with a second display output or a different port. If artifcats move with the screen content in screenshots, it's rendering (GPU). If they don't appear in a screenshot but do on the monitor, the cable, port or monitor itself is involved.

  1. guys pls help i installed the ASUS Maximus V GENE Display Video Driver 8.15.10.2598 update last night and this morning my gaming laptop looked like this in teh browser:

    gpu artifacts

little colored blocks, flickering lines, sometimes a whole strip of the screen goes green for a moment... it doesnt crash, it just looks horrible, my stomach dropped cuz artifacts usually mean dying hardware, right? but its suspicious that it started exactly after teh update, how do i tell which one it is without spending money?

  2. oof your BIOS observation is a good clue... if artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software.. 馃檹 if they show up in BIOS too, think hardware. lmk how it goes

  3. lol same thing happened to me check that the PCIe power connectors are fully seated and not melted or discolored 馃槶 Power issues can produce artifacts under load. hope that helps :)

  9. @ember_den342 omg finally sadly it was hardware. Artifacts showed in BIOS after a few days. Warranty claim is in. Thanks for helping me figure it out fast.
