  1. long time lurker first post lol i play a straetgy game every evening on my small form factor PC and know exactly how it should feel. after installing ASRock H61M-HVGS VGA Driver 15.28, its noticeably choppier, frame times are all over the place, and tonight it even crashed once:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

I havent changed any in-game settings. temps look normal. is it possible a driver update makes things this much worse, or am I imagining it? any ideas??

  7. oh ive been there lol if measurement confirms a regression, roll back with DDU to the previous driver, and report it to ASRock with your GPU, game and settings. worked for me anyway 🤷

  8. To measure properly, use a repeatable in-game benchmark or the same route, log frame times with a tool like PresentMon or CapFrameX, and compare average and 1% lows on both drivers. One run each isn't enough.

  9. hmmm after a driver update, games often rebuild their shader cache, which causes stutter for the first sessions. give it a couple of runs, or clear the driver shader cache manually in the control panel / %LocalAppData% cache folder and let it rebuild once.

  14. check Power Options: a Windows update or driver installer can switch to Balanced or a battrey saver profile 😤 on laptops, also check the manufacturers performance mode app.
