  1. hmmmm ok i installed teh Intel HD NUC Graphics Driver 15.33.42.4358 update last night and this morning my gaming desktop looked like this in video playback:

    gpu artifacts

little colored blocks, flickering lines, sometimes a whole strip of the sceren goes green for a moment :/ it doesn't crash, it just looks horrible. my stomach dropped cuz artifacts usually mean dying hardware, right?? but it's suspicious that it started exactly after the update. how do I tell which one it is without spending money?? what am i doing wrong??

  4. oof reset any overclock or undervolt, especially memory clock. Artifacts that look like small colored blocks are often VRAM instability, and a driver update can change memory behavior enough to tip a marginal OC over. worked for me anyway 🤷

  6. been there man test with a second display output or a different port. if artifacts move with the srceen content in screenshots, it's rendering (GPU) 😂 if they don't appear in a screenshot but do on the monitor, the cable, port or monitor itself is involved. lmk how it goes

  11. check that teh PCIe power connectors are fully seated and not melted or discolored. power issues can produce artfiacts under load.

  12. ok so your BIOS observation is a good clue. If artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software. If they show up in BIOS too, think hardware.

  13. ahh classic do a proper clean install of the preivous driver: download it from the Intel support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves the problematic profiles in place. worked for me anyway 🤷
