    getting DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED in a survival carfting game, and now in a sceond game too, which makes me think its not a game problem.

The GPU device instance has been suspended.

    timeline: installed Radeon Catalyst 3.4 Drivers (WinXP/2k) from AMD, crashes started the same night... i tried rolling back but now Windows Update keeps reinstalling something, im starting to feel like Im fighting my own PC.. xD whats teh proper way to test this? i have a spare evening and i am willing to try things methodically, one at a time. thx in advance!!

    Look at the game's own crash logs too 🤦 Many engines write a log with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG vs DEVICE_REMOVED vs DEVICE_RESET :) Hung usually means a timeout; removed can also mean the card actually dropped off the bus, which points at power or the slot.

    @lekstrom_25 It was the performance preset. Reset the AMD app to defaults and kept Radeon Catalyst 3.4 Drivers (WinXP/2k) . No crashes since, even during changing graphics settings.
