  1. I downloaded NVIDIA ForceWare Driver 77.77 Certified , the download page clearly lists Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Im on one of those. I ran teh express install on my gamnig laptop and got this:

it says the driver isn't compatible with this version of Windows. I've rebooted, run it as admin, redownloaded it. same thing. my current driver is quite old and I need the new one for a game. why would the installer refuse when the OS is listed? pls help 🙏

  2. oof make sure u picked teh right architecture and teh right OS family. A package meant for a different Windows edition, or a server/workstation branch, will refuse with the same generic text.

  4. oh ive been there lol some laptops use OEM-customized drivers (common on hybrid graphics) lmao In that case get the driver from the laptop makers supprot page, or use teh generic NVIDIA package only if it explicitly lists mobile GPUs. worked for me anyway 🤷

15 tabs open and chrome ate all 32GB of ram again

  7. Accepted solution

yeahhh run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth if the installer fails on every version. A damaged component store can break driver installers in odd ways.
