not gonna lie this is driving me nuts getting DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED in a competitive shooter, and now in a second game too, which makes me think its not a game problem.

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

Timeline: installed ForceWare Beta Drivers from NVIDIA, crashes started the same night. i tried rolling back but now Windows Update keeps reinstalling something lmao Im starting to feel like Im fighting my own PC. Whats the proper way to test this? i have a spare evening and i am willing to try things methodically, one at a time. seriously need help here 😭

Do a clean install of teh driver version u trust: download it from the NVIDIA support page, disconnect the network, boot to Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, install 😤 Then test a competitive shooter for a few sessions before changing anything else. hope that helps :)

yeahhh if it happens across multiple drivers and games, test the hardware: reseat the card, check teh PCIe power connectors, and try a stress test with temps logged. A card that only fails when warm is a classic pattern. lmk how it goes

ahh classic to stop Windows Update replacing ur chosen driver: run gpedit.msc (Pro) and enable Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Do not include drivers with Windows Updates, on Home, use System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > No.
