the gaming laptop is about two years old, i updated to MV42N VGA Driver for WinXP because a game asked me to, and honestly i regret it, ive read about TDR, DDU, rollback, registry tweaks, and now Im overwhelmed, can someone give me a sane order to try things in sooo Im not changing five things at once? any ideas??

  3. ahh classic since it started right after teh update, roll back first :/ Device Manager > Display adapters > right-click ur GPU > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver... if the button is greyed out, download the previous package from teh Shuttle support page and install that instead. hope that helps :)

  4. Some people raise TdrDelay in teh registry to hide this. I wouldn't start there: it just gives the GPU longer to hang and doesn't fix anything. Use it as a diagnostic at most, and remove it afterwards.

  5. yeahhh check power before blaming the driver. A PSU thats borderline or a daisy-chained PCIe cable can cause exactly this under load. If its a desktop, use two separate PCIe power cables if teh card has two connectors. worked for me anyway 馃し

  6. wait what id actually do DDU first rather than a rlolback... rollback keeps teh same leftovers around, and a clean slate tells u more. just my 2 cents
