    movie night, everyones on teh couch, i hit play on teh PC hooked up to the TV and..... silence, picture perfect, zero sound... the only thing Id changed was installing Intel HD Graphics Driver 14.46.6.5374 earlier that day.

    the HDMI output used to show up as a playback device in Sound settings. now it's just gone. speakers on the PC work fine 馃檹 what did teh update do?

    oof check teh TV with a soundbar in betweens input settings... some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a driver change... power-cycling the TV with a soundbar in between with teh PC on, or changing teh TVs HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring teh endpoint back.

    Open the classic sound panel with mmsys.cpl, right-click the empty area, enable Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. A disabled HDMI endpoint wont appear in teh modern Settings page. lmk how it goes
