COLLECTING EXPERIENCES: NFORCE 680I SLI CERTIFIED DRIVER FOR STREAMING
ok update: did what @kernelbuilder said and its fine now cant believe it was that simple lol
driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so i wouldn't stay on a very old version froever. but waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.
ok so my approach: make a restore point, download the previous driver package sooo it's ready, then try the new one, if anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one... that makes updating a low-risk experiment. hope that helps :)
ok so read the release notes on teh NVIDIA support page before anything else. they list fixed issues and known issues. if a known issue matches ur setup, wait; if teh fixes don't touch you, there's no rush. fingers crossed 🤞
@nighthound omggg read teh known issues and one matched my setup exactly, sooo I'm staying on whatever Windows Update installed for now, thanks for the sanity check.
