    are you using teh hardware encoder for H.265, and whats on teh timeline at that exact point? ??

    ok so hardware encoder, yes. At that timecode there's a stabilized clip with a plugin effect on it :) Disabling the plugin made the short range render fine.

    Also rule out teh boring stuff: the output drive filling up mid-render (check free space on the actual output drive, not the system drive), antivirus locking the output file, and otuput folders on a network share or sync folder that blips while writing. worked for me anyway 🤷
