  1. Somethings off. a raicng sim feels sluggish since teh AOpen WT19P-0A Intel Extreme Graphics Driver update and teh FPS counter agrees with me.

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

That crash happened once too. Im on a gaming desktop. Ive restarted, reinsatlled the game, and turned off recording ;) Before i go back to the old driver, is there something i should check first? i would also like to understand how to measure this propelry, because right now i am mostly going on feel and an FPS counter in teh corner of the screen.

  2. yeahhh to measure properly, use a repeatable in-game benchmark or the same route, log frame times with a tool like PresentMon or CapFrameX, and compare average and 1% lows on both drivers... one run each isnt enough.

  3. ahh classic first rule out teh obvious: on laptops, check that the game actually uses teh dedicated GPU. Settings > System > Display > Graphics, add the games .exe, set it to High performance... driver updates can reset per-app GPU preferences.

  7. ahh classic check Power Options: a Windows update or driver installer can switch to Balanced or a battery saver profile. on laptops, also check the manufacturers performance mode app.

  8. ok so if measurement confirms a regression, roll back with DDU to teh previous driver, and report it to Intel with ur GPU, game and settings.

  9. Accepted solution

check that the driver install didnt reset your control panel settings (power mnaagement mode, low latency mode, V-Sync, frame caps) 😭 A clean install resets everything to defaults, which can feel like a performance change.

  12. hmmmm not sure about that frame time tools are great but honestly if it feels worse and teh old driver feels better, rolling back is a valid fix too.

  13. @thread_ranger measured both drivers properly and teh new one really was worse in a racing sim on my gaming desktop. rolled back and reported it. thanks for the method!
