ahh classic check that the PCIe power connectors are fully seated and not melted or discolored. power issues can prdouce artifacts under load. fingers crossed 🤞

  1. ugh. so this is new. artiafcts on teh desktop, and only since updating TNT/GeForce 44.04 (Windows NT) from Creative.

    gpu artifacts

ive already rebooted three times. they dont show up on the BIOS screen as far as I can tell, only once Windows loads. is that a meaningful clue? im happy to run tests, I just need to know which ones make sense. I have not overclocked anything on purpose, but I did install a tuning tool a while back. I want to rule out teh cheap explanations before I start pricing replacement cards.

    it works on my machine™

  4. Do a proper clean install of the previous driver: download it from teh Creative support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves teh problematic profiles in place.

  5. been there man make a backup before u touch the thermal paste, learned that teh hard way... dumb question but how do i even check the settings worked for me anyway 🤷

  6. ehh respectfully disagree, i tried that and it made windows worse just my 2 cents

  7. if artifacts persist after DDU and an older driver, and even appear in BIOS, back up ur data and look into warranty... dont keep stress testing a card that shows artifacts in BIOS.

  9. Your BIOS observation is a good clue. If artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software. If they show up in BIOS too, think hardware.

  10. ahh classic reset any overclock or undervolt, especially memory clock. Artifacts that look like small colored blocks are often VRAM instability, and a driver update can cahnge memory behavior enough to tip a mraginal OC over. worked for me anyway 🤷

  15. oof test with a second display output or a different port 🤷 if artifacts move with teh screen content in screenshots, its rendering (GPU). if they dont appear in a screenshot but do on the monitor, teh cable, port or monitor itself is involved. lmk how it goes
