so annoyed rn this is sooo frustrating. Im trying to update the graphics driver on my office PC, and an older package fails immediately:

    Windows Update

"Not compatible with this version of Windows." Windows Update says i'm fully up to date. the Radeon Adrenalin 2019 Edition Graphics Driver page supports Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, is the installer checking smth besides the OS version? i feel like i'm missing something obvious. i even tried downloading it on another computer and copying it over, just in case the file was corrupted... same error, same instant failure, i am honestly running out of ideas. seriously need help here 😭

    it works on my machine™

that error is often misleading... installers check the GPUs hardware ID against their INF file, not just the OS... open Device Manager > Display adapters > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids and compare... if u grabbed the desktop package for a laptop GPU (or vice versa), youll get this exact message.

@devo153 omggg installed the pending Windows feature update, then Radeon Adrenalin 2019 Edition Graphics Driver 19.4.1 went on without a single complaint, the error was technically true, just unhelpful.
