  1. smth's off... a strategy game feels sluggish since the ForceWare Driver update and the FPS counter agrees with me.

that crash happened once too, im on a gaming desktop, ive restarted, reinstalled the game, and turned off recording, before I go back to the old driver, is there something I should check first? I would also like to understand how to measure this properly, because right now I am mostly going on feel and an FPS counter in the corner of teh screen. seriously need help here 馃槶

  2. uhh is it lower average FPS, or mainly stutter?

  3. After a driver update, games often rebuild their shader cache, which causes stutter for the first sessions. Give it a couple of runs, or clear the driver sahder cache manually in the control panel / %LocalAppData% cache folder and let it rebuild once. worked for me anyway 馃し

  4. Check that the driver install didn't reset your control panel settings (power management mode, low latency mode, V-Sync, frame caps). A clean install resets everything to defaults, which can feel like a performance change.

  5. to measure properly, use a repeatable in-game benchmark or the same route, log frame times with a tool like PresentMon or CapFrameX, and compare average and 1% lows on both drivers xD one run each isnt enough. worked for me anyway 馃し

  7. hmm idk frame time tools are great but honestly if it feels worse and teh old driver feels better, rolling back is a valid fix too. just my 2 cents
