  1. im literally losing my mind here after installing AMD Catalyst Display Drivers 10.10 Ive had the control panel wont open on my home-built PC. fine, Ill just roll it back :D except the Roll Back Driver button is greyed out, and when i uninstalled it Windows put a driver back on its own. i keep gteting this:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    ive heard of DDU, but ppl say its dangerous and other pepole say its the only correct way.. 🙏 i just wanna go back to the driver that worked yesterday... whats the right sequence?? im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  2. hmmm pro or Home edition? It changes how you block driver updates.

  3. ahh classic if installing the older package over teh top complains about a newer version, thats exactly teh case for DDU. Installers refuse downgrades but are fine on a clean system. worked for me anyway 🤷

  4. DDU isnt dangerous if u use it as intended, in Safe Mode, with a restore point first lmao the real risk is runnnig it in normal mode with teh network on and letting Windows race u to install a driver mid-cleanup. good luck man!

    To stop Windows Update replacing it, use Device Installation Settings > No (System > About > Advanced system settings > Hardware) or the Group Policy "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" on Pro.

  6. hmm idk blocking driver updates globally also blocks useful ones for other devices. I'd use teh "Show or hide updates" troubleshooter to hide just teh GPU driver instead. idk maybe im wrong lol

    it works on my machine™

  7. @loose_hound Did it exatcly in that order with teh network unplugged. Old driver installed, the control panel wont open is gone, and Windows hasnt touched it in a week. Thank you!
