  1. guys pls help so this is new... artifacts in games, and only since updating Catalyst Display Driver from AMD.

    gpu artifacts

ive already rebooted three times, they dont show up on teh BIOS screen as far as i can tell, only once Windows loads, is that a meaningful clue? im happy to run tests, i just need to know which ones make sense... i have not overclocked anything on purpose, but i did install a tuning tool a while back, i wanna rule out the cheap explanations before i start pricing replacement cards. any ideas??

  2. yeahhh your BIOS observation is a good clue. if artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software. if they show up in BIOS too, think hardware.

  3. Accepted solution

yeahhh do a proper clean install of the previous driver: download it from teh AMD support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves the problematic profiles in place.

  5. @liv.mendes holy cow removed the memory overclock and the artifacts in games disappeared even on Catalyst Display Driver 12.4. The updtae just exposed an OC that was never stable. cant believe it was that simple lol

the real fix was the friends we made along the way
