  1. im literally losing my mind here pls tell me this is a driver thing.. 🔥 glitches in games on my editing workstation, starting right after teh CATALYST Driver update:

    gpu artifacts

the card isnt new but its never shown anything like this before. temperatures look normal. ive tried a different cable and teh artifacts are the same. id like to know what to test before i convince myself its dead 🤷 i also do some photo work on the editing workstation, sooo i really need to know wehther i can trust what i see on screen right now. any ideas??

    it works on my machine™

  2. hmmm check that teh PCIe power connectors are fully seated and not melted or discolored. power issues can prodcue artifacts under load.

  3. yeahhh test with a second display output or a different port. If artifacts move with teh screen content in screenshots, it's rendering (GPU). If they don't appear in a screenshot but do on the monitor, the cable, port or monitor itself is involved. good luck man!

  10. ok so ur BIOS observation is a good clue... if artifacts appear only after Windows loads the driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software, if they show up in BIOS too, think hardware.

  11. yeahhh if artifacts persist after DDU and an older driver, and even appear in BIOS, back up your data and look into warranty... don't keep stress testing a card that shows artifacts in BIOS. worked for me anyway 🤷

  14. lol same thing happened to me do a proper clean install of the previous driver: download it from the AMD support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU, reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves teh problematic profiles in place. lmk how it goes

nothing is more permanent than a temporary workaround

  15. Accepted solution

reset any overclock or undervolt, especially memory clock, artifacts that look like small colored blocks are often VRAM instability, and a driver update can change memory behavior enough to tip a marginal OC over. hope that helps :)
