Storage driver vs Microsoft NVMe driver: which caused my 100% disk? 馃

  1. so annoyed rn after the Samsung 840 EVO SSD Firmware EXT0DB6Q update, my home-built PC became painfully slow. Opening the Start menu takes ages, and apps freeze for seconds at a time. Task Manager shows this:

    Disk 0 (C:) Active time 100%

    Disk 0 (C:) Active time 100%
    Not responding

The second NVMe drive sits at 100% active time, with barley any read or write speed. Response times are huge. Before the update everything was snappy 馃槄 Im wondering whether the storage driver is teh issue or whether my drive is dying at the worst possible time. any ideas??

  4. If its an external SSD, try a different USB port and cable. UASP issues can cause 100% active time with low throughput.

  5. oh ive been there lol check that teh drive has free space (at least 10 to 15%) and that TRIM is enabled: fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify should return 0. lmk how it goes
