  1. Movie night, everyones on teh couch, I hit play on the PC hooked up to the monitor with speakers and.., silence. Picture pefrect, zero sound. The only thing Id changed was installing NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers 267.91 Windows XP 64-bit earlier that day.

the HDMI output used to show up as a playback device in Sound settings. now its just gone. speakers on the PC work fine. what did the update do?

  2. oh ive been there lol check the monitor with speakerss input settings. some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a driver change. power-cyclnig teh monitor with speakers with the PC on, or changing the TVs HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring teh endpoint back.
