  1. help!! since updating the graphics driver my TV gets no audio over HDMI at all.

i tried another HDMI cable, another port, and restarting the TV. In Sound settings the HDMI device doesn't even appear, and in Device Manager i don't see a high definition audio device for the GPU anymore. It worked yesterday on the old TNT/GeForce 44.04 (Windows 2000/XP). Help? i am starting to suspect teh installer did something odd, because nothing else changed. The TV itself works fine with a game console on the next input.

  2. ok so on some setups the HDMI audio only appears when the TV with a soundbar in between is teh active display at boot. Test with only the TV with a soundbar in between connected once. fingers crossed 🤞

  3. oof check the TV with a soundbar in between's input settings. some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a drvier change... power-cycling teh TV with a soundbar in between with teh PC on, or changing the TV's HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring the endpoint back. hope that helps :)

  4. oof open the classic sound panel with mmsys.cpl, right-click the empty area, enable Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. A disabled HDMI endpoint won't appear in the modern Settings page. hope that helps :)

  5. hmmm in Device Manager, check Sound, video and game controllers for teh GPU's HD audio device. Also try View > Show hidden devices. If it's there but disabled, enable it. If it's missing entirely, use Action > Scan for hardware changes. worked for me anyway 🤷

  12. ok so many GPU installers let you choose components in Custom install, and teh HDMI/DisplayPort audio driver is one of them. rerun the Creative installer, choose Custom, and make sure the HD audio component is ticked. lmk how it goes
