Is Variable Refresh The Reason My Gigabyte Multi-Monitor Setup Flickers Now?

  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts my setup is a 4K screen next to a 1080p one, and its been rock solid. Since installing Gigabyte GA-H77-DS3H VGA Driver 9.17.10.2792, one of teh screens randomly blinks black for a split second. Sometimes its every few minutes, sometimes every few seconds.

Its worst when a video is playing on one screen and Im working on teh other. Different cable, same result. Its honestly giving me a headache. Is this a known thing with multi-monitor setups after driver updates? pls help 🙏

  3. Start with refresh rates. Mixed refresh setups are sensitive to driver changes. In Settings > System > Display > Advanced display, set both screens to standard rates first (for example both at 60 Hz) and see if the flicker stops. Then raise them one at a time.

  4. oh ive been there lol turn off variable refresh (G-Sync/FreeSync/Adaptive Sync) on the secondary monitor and in the driver control panel as a test. VRR on a desktop screen with video playing is a classic flicker trigger.
