MY MONITOR WITH SPEAKERS HAS PICTURE BUT NO SOUND SINCE THE UV+ UV12 / UV16 DRIVER UPDATE

    not gonna lie this is driving me nuts movie night, everyones on the couch, I hit play on teh PC hooked up to the monitor with speakers and..... silence. Picture perfect, zero sound. The only thing Id changed was installing EVGA UV+ UV12 / UV16 Driver 5.3 earlier that day.

    the HDMI output used to show up as a playback device in Sound settings, now its just gone. speakers on the PC work fine. what did the update do?

    hmmm check the TV with a soundbar in betweens input settings, some TVs and receivers renegotiate audio formats after a driver change, power-cycling teh TV with a soundbar in between with teh PC on, or changing teh TVs HDMI audio mode to PCM, can bring the endpoint back. fingers crossed 馃

    ahh classic many GPU installers let u choose components in Custom install, and teh HDMI/DisplayPort audio driver is one of them. Rerun the EVGA installer, choose Custom, and make sure the HD audio component is ticked.

    in Device Manager, check Sound, video and game controllers for teh GPUs HD audio device. also try View > Show hidden devcies. if its there but dsiabled, enable it. if its missing entirely, use Action > Scan for hardware chagnes. fingers crossed 馃

    Open the classic sound panel with mmsys.cpl, right-click the empty area, enable Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. A disabled HDMI endpoint wont appear in the modern Settings page. worked for me anyway 馃し

    on some setups the HDMI audio only appears when teh TV with a soundbar in between is teh active dsiplay at boot. test with only teh TV with a soundbar in between connected once.

    oh ive been there lol if the HD audio device shows a yellow mark, uninstall it in Device Manager (tick delete the driver software if offered), then reinstall teh GPU package with the audio component seelcted. worked for me anyway 馃し

    ive seen Express install skip HDMI audio only when the previous install had it unticked. A clean install is the surest way to reset that.

    somewhere an AI is confidently telling someone the wrong fix rn

    @rhea.celik wowww ok ran the installer again, pciked Custom, and teh HD audio box was unticked. ticked it, reboot, sound on the monitor with speakers is back. movie night rescued. thank u thank u thank u
