    Make sure you picked the right architecture and the right OS family. A package meant for a different Windows edition, or a server/workstation branch, will refuse with the same generic text.

    been there man run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth if the installer fails on every version 🔥 A damaged component store can break driver installers in odd ways. worked for me anyway 🤷

    15 tabs open and chrome ate all 32GB of ram again

    hmmmm quick q dumb question but how do i even check the BIOS. told my boss it would take 10 minutes. its been half the night ??

    as a last resort u can exrtact the package and install the INF manually: Device Manager > Update driver > Browse my computer > Let me pick > Have Disk, or pnputil /add-driver <path>\*.inf /install. if the INF doesnt list your harwdare ID, though, dont force it.

    @xavi_cipher ended up using the laptop makers driver. its older but stable, and my game launches now. thanks for explaining what the installer was really checking. u guys are the best!!!
