  1. help!! my small form factor PC is performing like it lost a generation, an MMO stutters in places that used to be smooth, all after the Intel driver update.

id like to measure this properly insetad of going on feel, whats the right way to compare two drivers? i have both driver packages downlodaed already, i just do not wanna run a dozen random tests and end up with numbers i cannot interpret. A simple, repeatable method would be perfect.

  2. First rule out the obvious: on laptops, check that the game actually uses the dedicated GPU. Settings > System > Display > Graphics, add the games .exe, set it to High performance. driver updates can reset per-app GPU preferences. lmk how it goes

  4. oof if measurement confirms a regression, roll back with DDU to the previous driver, and report it to Intel with your GPU, game and settings.

  5. hmmm after a driver update, games often rebuild their shader cache, which causes stutter for the first sessions. give it a couple of runs, or clear the driver shader cache manually in the control panel / %LocalAppData% cache folder and let it rebuild once.

  8. Accepted solution

hmmm to measure properly, use a repeatable in-game benchmark or the same route, log frame times with a tool like PresentMon or CapFrameX, and compare average and 1% lows on both drivers, one run each isnt enough. hope that helps :)
